The City of Darwin have moved to electronic tendering in order improve the speed and efficiency whilst reducing costs for both Council and our suppliers.

Improvements to formal quotation and tendering processes

City of Darwin has changed the way it distributes and receives Requests for Tenders (RFTs) and Expressions of Interest (EOIs),  Request for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) by moving into a fully electronic environment.

Council will place notifications and receive responses to RFQs, RFTs and EOIs electronically, through this eTendering portal.

How do I start using the system?

To use this system and to access the tenders being called by the City of Darwin, you must first be a registered user. To register, click on the registration link above.

What are the benefits for suppliers?

• Convenience: Suppliers will be able to download documents instantly, online.
• Security: Suppliers may no longer miss a City of Darwin opportunity that is important to their business.
• Never Miss Out: Suppliers will be notified of all City of Darwin tendering opportunities in the fields that they nominate when they register.
• Environmental Friendly: The use of electronic tendering portals reduces the supplier's environmental footprint by removing the need to produce hard copies of tender responses.
• Cost Savings: Supplier's responses will be electronically uploaded into electronic tender boxes, thus removing printing, courier and delivery costs.

What are the costs to suppliers?

None, Suppliers will be able to receive and respond to notifications posted by City of Darwin at no cost.

• Tendering cycle time: This system speeds up the tendering cycle and reduces the time, effort and costs for both Council and our suppliers.
• Audit trail: The system provides a full audit trail by recording who downloaded quotation/tender documents, provides An electronic footprint of all related matters including addendums and questions and answers provided by Council to suppliers and records the time that responses are received, eliminating the receipt of late response submissions.
• Environmental Friendly: Council's environmental impact will be reduced by eliminating the need to publish hard copies of tender documents.

How does the system work?

The eTendering system caters for the issue of selected tendering, public tendering and open advertised tendering for the supply of goods and services.

Council staff and suppliers of goods and services to Council are required to conduct their activities in accordance with the City of Darwin Statement of Business Ethics
